South Dakota, located in the Midwest of the United States, has Pierre as its capital, positioned on the eastern side of the Missouri River. The state is characterized by vast plains, fertile agricultural lands, and the mountainous terrain of the Black Hills. A notable landmark in these hills is Mount Rushmore, which features enormous carvings of Presidents Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, and George Washington, each measuring 60 feet (18 m) in height. Additionally, the Crazy Horse Memorial, also located in the Black Hills, remains a work in progress. Visitors can also discover Wind Cave National Park, renowned for its unique calcite formations, as well as Jewel Cave National Monument. South Dakota hosts a large portion of the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail, which stretches approximately 6,000 kilometers from Illinois to Oregon. In Pierre, you can visit significant sites such as the State Capitol, the South Dakota State Historical Society, and the historic Verendrye Site. Don’t miss LaFramboise Island, which is rich in wildlife and greenery, as well as Farm Island, perfect for enjoying the outdoors! The largest city in the state, Sioux Falls, is home to Falls Park, where you can marvel at the waterfalls of the Big Sioux River. On your journey
