A live webcam offers a glimpse into the nest of the lesser spotted eagle, situated in central Latvia. This camera allows viewers to witness the daily activities of these raptors in their natural surroundings. Perched 17 meters above ground, the nest is constructed among the branches of a large spruce tree. This type of nest is characteristic of the lesser spotted eagle species. In Latvia, approximately half of these eagles' nests are found in spruce trees, with many located in trees that have broken tops, creating multiple new branches. The nest's size and materials suggest it has been there for at least five years, although it was first identified in 2018. The live stream from the lesser spotted eagle's nest is managed by the Latvian Fund for Nature as part of the project titled "Arrangements for Lesser Spotted Eagle Conservation in Latvia" (LIFE AQPOM), which receives support from the EC LIFE+ program and the Latvian Environmental Protection Fund Administration. You can view this live stream of the lesser spotted eagle's nest in central Latvia 24/7.
