A live webcam broadcasts a stunning view of Nevsky Avenue in Saint Petersburg, which serves as the city's principal thoroughfare. This avenue extends 4.5 kilometers from the Admiralty to the Alexander Nevsky Lavra, passing over the Moika River (via the Green Bridge), the Griboedov Canal (using the Kazan Bridge), and the Fontanka River (crossed by the Anichkov Bridge). Its maximum width measures 60 meters near Gostiny Dvor, while it narrows to 25 meters at the Moika River. The odd-numbered side is informally referred to as the "shadow" side, whereas the even-numbered side is known as the "solar" side, as it is a favored spot for strolls. The stretch between Vosstaniya Square and Alexander Nevsky Lavra is also colloquially named the Staro-Nevsky Monastery, partly due to an effort in the 1730s to realign the road to its current layout along Goncharnaya and Teleznaya streets.
