The live rail webcam displayed above is operated by Osage Pawn and Gun on Main Street, providing a view of the Sedalia Train Station and Union Pacific Sub in the heart of Sedalia, Missouri, as depicted on the accompanying map. Sedalia Station serves as an Amtrak station and was originally established by the Missouri Pacific Railroad, which ranks among the earliest railroads in the western United States. After the depot, constructed in 1886 and shut down in the 1970s due to neglect, underwent renovations in 2011, it was revitalized for modern use. The train facilities in Sedalia are integrated into the Katy Trail State Park, celebrating the region's railroad history. The Katy Trail extends for 240 miles (390 kilometers) along the route previously used by the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railway. Visitors hiking, jogging, and cycling the trail will encounter numerous historic depots alongside various picturesque and diverse landscapes. Furthermore, Sedalia has been the home of the Missouri State Fair since 1901, an 11-day event featuring a range of daily entertainment, including concerts, shows, and exhibitions.
