Sedalia Station serves as an Amtrak station and was originally established by the Missouri Pacific Railroad, which ranks among the earliest railroads in the western United States. After the depot, constructed in 1886 and shut down in the 1970s due to neglect, underwent renovations in 2011, it was revitalized for modern use. The train facilities in Sedalia are integrated into the Katy Trail State Park, celebrating the region's railroad history.
