With this live HD webcam feed, you can admire the stunning sacred site of the John Paul II Papal Altar, nestled in the lush landscape of Stary Sącz, located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship of Poland. This Papal Altar, marked on the map below, was built to commemorate the holy mass officiated by Pope John Paul II on June 16, 1999, during the canonization of Saint Kinga, a significant figure who lived and passed away in this town. The altar, designed by architect Zenon Andrzej Remi, features a wooden structure that reflects traditional highlander pastoral architecture. Beneath the altar, visitors can explore an exhibition showcasing artifacts from the pope's visit. Stary Sącz is also home to the "Opoka" Pilgrim House, the monastery of the Poor Clare Nuns, and various other historic landmarks. While in Stary Sącz, guests can take in the picturesque vistas of the Kotlina Sądecka valley, where the town is beautifully situated.
