Experience the live PTZ webcam positioned at the bald eagle nest located at Fraser Point on Santa Cruz Island, off the California coast. This camera offers a real-time glimpse into the lives of these majestic birds of prey, allowing viewers to observe the hatching of eggs and the nurturing of their young from a close distance. Situated approximately 20 meters from the nest, which was established in 2017 after the previous nest fell, this setup provides an intimate view of the nesting process. The female eagle, designated A-46, was born at the Pelican Harbor nest on Santa Cruz Island in 2006 and holds the distinction of being the first bald eagle to hatch on the Channel Islands since 1950. The male, A-64, is her brother and emerged from the same nest in 2008. A-64 faced a challenge early on when he was knocked from the nest by a subadult eagle, resulting in a puncture wound in his beak. After receiving veterinary care, he was safely released back onto Santa Cruz Island from a hacking tower. This eagle pair has been successfully nesting together since 2012, successfully raising three chicks in their nest in 2017.
