The webcam provides a view of Piazza Santa Maria Formosa and its church located in Venice, Italy. The camera is set up on the Ruzzini Palace Hotel. The Church of Santa Maria Formosa, constructed in 1492 based on the designs of Mauro Codussi, occupies the site of a previous church. Notable architectural elements include the cream-colored convex apse and a grotesque mask positioned at the base of the bell tower—representative of the numerous Baroque characteristics found throughout the church. Inside, several masterpieces from the Venetian painting school can be observed. Among these, the prominent altarpiece "St. Barbara with the Saints," created by Palma Il Vecchio, stands out as one of the artist's finest works. Additionally, there is the "Madonna Misericordia" triptych, crafted by Bartolomeo Vivarini in 1473, funded by the church’s congregation.
