A live camera stream is set up at a watering hole in Tembe Elephant Park, situated in the northeastern region of South Africa. This webcam provides a real-time opportunity to observe the world's largest elephants. Established in 1983, the park aims to safeguard the elephants that historically migrated between Maputaland and southern Mozambique. These majestic creatures suffered greatly due to poaching during the civil conflict in Mozambique, resulting in the park remaining closed to visitors until 1991. Presently, around 250 elephants reside in the park, recognized as the largest of their species globally. An additional 200 elephants from the same lineage are now found at the Maputo Elephant Sanctuary in Mozambique. Plans are underway for the Lubombo Transboundary Nature Reserve to link Tembe Park with the Lubombo Nature Reserve in Swaziland, forming a unified transboundary conservation area. The remote-controlled webcam focuses on various wildlife and birds that frequent the watering hole, allowing viewers to witness African elephants in real time.
